Should we parent post these?

Posted under General

Sometimes on Pixiv an image will receive an image "response", which is basically when another user takes an existing image and makes slight modifications (such as coloring) to it.

Example:

The pictures are naturally by different artists, unlike most parent posts, but I can't think of any other way to link them together. Creating a pool for it seems like a much worse alternative.

Should we parent these or no?

Pools would actually be ideal in theory, but unless this becomes something with lots and lots of posts, the pool would look kinda pathetic.

I don't like parenting those, but I'm not sure what the alternative is. Other than a link in the comments.

Don't forget to add the original artist's tag to the responses. The response may be by a different artist but it is still the original artist's work since he/she provided the base image and should be credited.

[ninja edit: oops, I fail at reading comprehension.]

+1 for using a pool. I don't think short pools are necessarily bad. I've made a few myself to indicate a relationship between a couple pages of a doujin I uploaded, etc.

Eh, I don't really like that either because of potential issues will editing based on source searches and such, as well as initial confusion over which artist did what. If we're parenting, that's like crediting them already. I can see why people would think to add the other artist and for all I know I've even done it before, but it's just an unfortunate situation all around.
