I don't have a problem with this, although I made the original implication, since it does clearly cause an absurd result.
In my defense, I will note that the petticoat is absolutely an article of lingerie, which is simply a term meaning "women's undergarments"; it's just that today's lolis seem not to have the sense to realize that their underwear is showing.
I place the blame squarely on Minnie Mouse.

AFAIK the character is an invalid and doesn't leave her house, so a nightgown just happens to be her daily wear.
The point is, she also gets an implicated lingerie that seems as much out of place as in post #1304.

I have to agree. That result seems just as absurd as the one in the first post.

I believe that a long time ago the petticoat was the main female undergarment worn below the waist. The panties/knickers were introduced later, which has left the petticoat with a slightly ambiguous status.
