Very, yeah! It's quite fun, been playing it for three days now.
I thought it was suppose to be released on the switch but I couldn't find it anywhere in the story. Any news about its release date?

So aside from being knock-off BOTW, is the game any good?
And BOTW was a knockoff of literally every other Ubisoft sandbox. Come on man, don't be like that. Besides, I thought people wanted more games to have the same quality as BOTW?

The game apes the gameplay style so hard and adds a gacha system.

It really does, I think it's perfectly okay to accept that, and I don't think it makes the game "bad" for doing so. Shadow of Mordor is essentially "Assassin's Creed but Lord of the Rings" and lots of people loved that game, so if you're the kind of player who enjoyed BotW, you are probably also the kind of player who would enjoy Genshin Impact. The Stamina System, Gliding, Climbing, and Swimming works very well here and leads to lots of enjoyable micro-decisions, so I can say it was the right call.
I expect this next part to change when I get further in (because, I mean, OF COURSE) but until now, the monetization has felt very fair to me as a free player.
@Keo Regarding the Switch release, I'm not actually sure yet, it's To Be Announced.

I hate derivative work as much as the next person, but even so it's better that they copy something that's universally acclaimed as a masterpiece rather than another hackout mainstream mobile garbage where you only use cards and have limited movements and only a 2 illustration per character. Although yes, the who gacha thing is kinda stupid.
They made it free to play just for microtransaction is dumb and was a bit of a turn off for me. If it was a $60 game and the gacha was just ingame gacham kinda like Yokai watch, then it would have been nice. Well, if its good I guess that's what matters. Although, being based on those fantasy mobile games it'll probably be shit if they don't at least put some effort in the story, which would be the only thing I care about. Otherwise, I still always have FGO.

So far, the story seems to be picking up quite a bit in the second region and I'm curious to see where it goes from here. Most of the major characters are pretty cool and compelling, and I like the way the gods of this world are described and how everyone's powers are linked to them. I found the start to be kind of whatever, but once you get to Liyue, it's much better. And, of course, there's a lot of map gameplay to be done until then, fighting monster-camps, climbing cliffs, all that good stuff that worked before, and keeps working here.
I've been playing and having fun. It's good to NOT need to WASTE time backtracking to collect dozens of breakable weapons and be allowed to concentrate or exploration.
But I won't try to convince anyone to play. If a persona wants to simply hate it for being too similar to BotW or having gacha mechanics, well, it's their choice. Just, don't go around trying to ruin the fun for those who are enjoying the game.
It's very fun, it doesn't feel like a mobile game at all when playing on console. At least try it for a minute before going on long diatribes about it.
I'm not gonna defend the gacha (it hasn't been very nice to me), but the exploration and other aspects of the gameplay are enjoyable. The free characters are perfectly able to solve at least the majority of puzzles in the game, and there's a ton of shit to do.
Well, of course it won't feel like a mobile at the beginning. That's how all of them are. Only the most dumbest and greediest of MOBAs actually show their true colors at the start and those usually don't last long. Most MOBA games don't feel like a MOBA game until you get to somewhere near the middle or the middle-end, then they slap the fuck out of you as hard as possible.
Why do you keep saying MOBA? It's not a MOBA. It's BotW with a gacha, it plays like anime BotW. If you enjoy BotW, you might enjoy this. Whether you spend money on it or not, it isn't a waste of time if you enjoyed it. Writing essays here about how lazy and greedy a game that's been out for only a few days might be is the real waste of time. Either give it a try or don't.

My apologies. I seem to be using the wrong word, my bad. I keep getting them mixed up cause mobile and such. I'll change it.
Well, its more of just an opinion. I guess it is a waste of time complaining. Still, let's see how it goes. Maybe I'll be wrong.

Or not.
You can keep having your fun complaining about a game you won't, as you said, "waste space on the PC" to play. Which means, complaining without even trying.
I'll keep having my fun playing the game for as long as it is interesting, and if in the endgame it's a bloody mess of a powercreep gacha game, nothing was lost, since that's expected of all gacha games.
Good question. I dunno of any way for comments to be hidden unless they have been downvoted.
You can use custom CSS in your account settings to hide comments from specific users(it actually just completely removes them from your view rather than "hiding" them the way downvoting does). Not sure if there are ways to do that for things like comment length.
