As with the last time, I'm not super-familiar with fighting game terminology - especially that 'Front-entry Hadou' line (apart from Hadou being short for Hadouken)
NerdIowa is now my headcanon. If the Devs came out and retconned her character to fit this portrayal (through Mk.II, for example), I'd forgive them for all the salt they put me through.
I would like to see that Gangut was an exchange student in Iowa's class before they became shipgirls and knows Iowa very much, hence Iowa would tend to spy on Gangut often to prevent her from spilling the glass

Ten cents says they were approached by the CIA, KGB of their respective countries
Plus Iowa and Gambi spying on Gangut, that's everyday US intelligence during the cold war
C'mon Tashkent! All you did was a Shoryuken! You have to learn the Shakunetsu Hadouken next. For Ryu, it differs between games---usually it's half-circle(facing the opponent, forward)+punch, but in Street Fighter IV, it's an EX move for Ryu so all you have to do is input the normal Hadouken command but by pressing 2 punch buttons. For Gouki/Akuma, the command is reversed! half-cirle(facing the opponent, backward)+punch! This command is also used for Evil Ryu in Ultra Street Fighter IV! And you're a Russian, aren't you? Use Zangief! Or Kolin! For Zangief, just learn to chain combos into his Green Hand, or use his signature spin lariat to avoid enemy projectiles. Also, FUCK Guile players. I hate Sonic Booms in SFV more than anything. ...Back in SFIV 3DS, he's broken as hell too due to "simple touchscreen special move" feature.
In a darker lore, this could be proof of a brainwashing backstory.
For example, she was an ordinary shy university girl who was kidnapped, augmented, and given mind control to make her "Iowa", and all she can remember is her life as a ship girl who would gleefully die fighting for her supposed admiral (who is just a handler who may or may not be a real person). Any time you acquire another Iowa, that's another girl who had her life taken away and made into her.
I can't think why anyone would want to make normal girls behave like a loud and boisterous Iowa though, so probably not.
I'm sure the punchline is in that smaller text, but I can't read it.
ぞうして...ぐこてみますへ maybe?
If were going purely from context, it'd be something like どうして...知っていますか (How...could she know that?) It's way too small for me to tell if it even resembles anything close to that, though.
As with the last time, I'm not super-familiar with fighting game terminology - especially that 'Front-entry Hadou' line (apart from Hadou being short for Hadouken)
Hadouken input: quarter-circle(down to forward) + punch
Shoryuken input: forward + semi-quarter-circle(down-forward to forwarddown to down-forward) + punch
Therefore, Shoryuken input is roughly "forward + Hadouken".
You know if you look back on past strips there were hints of Iowa being a geek. For one she seems to be a fan of b-rated horror or scifi when she was making a script.
Then there's her going all out with her zombie costume during halloween. And the most obvious hint is her being a gamer.
I do hope Geeky Iowa becomes a thing. If it turns out that she plays tabeltop RPGs or Into miniature wargaming, she would be a girl after my own heart.
I now have the headcanon of Iowa being the resident DM of the shipgirl's table.
Does that mean that Ido's comics are one of the ones where the Shipgirls used to be regular girls?
How...Hii!?Iowa-san?Baay...Eavesdropping isn't goood!It's to protect the world's peace!Ehh...Were you listening?Indeed.Ahaha!
Iowa-san, those girls sure are telling funny jokes!Ah,What is this convo!?No good! Faster!Alright!
You did well! The Shoryuken came out!
She made a mistake while spamming Hadouken and performed Shoryuken insteadIt came out!Shoryuken!Forward and Hadou!Forward and Hadou!Forward and Hadou!!Man, the path to bring down America sure is a long one!k'chkThat much? But contrary to expectations, it seems she's the geek that only made her current debut after becoming a shipgirl!Forward and Hadou!Iowa's waiting Guile is a skill borne of considerable practice, after all.
The 'Waiting Guile' is the JP term for a Guile player who just turtles, throwing out sonic booms at range and flash kicks in close. If we were to liken her to the American School Caste, then you'd most certainly put her down as the Queen Bee of the cheerleaders at first glance.
