I always had the impression that some of the T-dolls have lives outside G&K, and that some of them might not be manufactured but actually recruited. Like the androids walk into the recruitment office, hand in their resume, take on some core competency tests before eventually receive their fire control cores and weapons to become proper T-dolls.
I personally think that MP5 has a 'grandmother' somewhere to care for and she sends back part of her salary to her. No idea where I got the idea but it's an impression I've got.
That also makes some of the T-dolls (especially IDW DA NYA) extremely persistent in their drive to be T-dolls.
In addition to T-Dolls, there are also A-dolls, who are civilian models. Before androids being built specifically for combat was a thing, they converted A-dolls for military use. They aren't quite as effective as purpose-built T-dolls, though.

I think A-dolls are still being converted into T-dolls. In the first midnight chapter, MP5 voiced her concerns about her performance due to her being converted from civilian models.
Considering that one of the night missions has SASS taking out an entire FOB almost single-handily, I think we can assume that she's a military-grade model.

Considering her stats, I still have no idea how she managed that.

Congrats to the guess man. Most T-dolls are actual weaponize A-Dolls that were refitted to combat, we may wondering why some of the girls wearing unusual attire like a maid uniform etc, which gives a big guess what they do before.
according to the girls frontline good book... visual guide if you do "retire" a T-doll they go back to their old life which would mean they will converted back to an A-doll assuming they can get a "normal" civilian life since we never figure out what about T-dolls made from the ground up and if they do acquire PTSD (as the Team Anti-Rain's CPUs can never be "reprogrammed" and they are one of a kind in that they can only be made once) is an entirely different scenario poor M4...

That doesn't seem to be the case anymore now that AR-15 is coming back.
