I just checked the Twitter conversation that followed that post. Searching the kanji for Motoko's name does turn up a couple of results which, upon machine-translation, reveal that someone not only asked if it was "Motoko-san" (almost certainly meaning the one we're talking about), but Ikomochi answered back and confirms that the guess was correct. Tagging accordingly now.

The guidelines for tagging examples of characters cosplaying as other characters don't say anything about whether or not we should include the tag for the cosplayed character's source material. Does that imply that we shouldn't bother, or is it that the guidelines were originally written at a time when such cosplaying was done with both characters hailing from the same work (as it seems to be from the example in the wiki article)?

No, it's just one of those things that is intuitively obvious but not outright stated. Regardless, I'll add something to the wiki indicating that the associated copyright should be tagged as required.
