The London Underground, also known as the Tube, is the subway system of London, England. It is currently operated by Transport for London (TFL), a city government agency.
Beginning operation in 1863, it was the world's first subway and has since become an indisputable icon of London. It is especially famous for its iconography with its red and blue color scheme. Its map in particular, was also responsible for popularizing schematic-based design for subway maps worldwide.
