hollow knight
A 2D metroidvania action-adventure game published by indie Australian developer Team Cherry and first released in February 2017.
The player takes control of a nameless insectoid Knight who stumbles upon a fallen underground kingdom inhabited by bug-like creatures, many of which are made hostile due to a supernatural infection.
A sequel with recurring boss Hornet as the main character, Hollow Knight: Silksong, was announced in February 2019 and released in September 2025.
