The primary antagonist of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. An ancient Dunmer most identifiable by his signature mask.

Formerly Lord of Great House Dagoth, he was also previously the trusted advisor and close friend to Indoril Nerevar. When he appears by the events of the game, he has gone mad with power and ambition, using an ancient artifact known as the Heart of Lorkhan to inflict unnatural storms on the land that carry the Heart's essence which inflict the Corpus Blight, a horrific disease that causes various mutations among those affected by it, as a way of weeding out those he deems unworthy while empowering those he believes are worth of his cause.

Dagoth Ur has taken new life with the rise of AI voice generation around 2023 as an absurdity-spewing shitposter, made all the more hilarious and memetic due to the unique blend and contrast of his tragic backstory, grandiose charismatic performance (originally provided by his voice actor Jeff Baker), and unapologetic and over-the-top villainy, leading to the memetic persona known as "Reddit Dagoth Ur".
