Alfred Josef Ferdinand Jodl (b. 10. May 1890 in Wurzburg, d. 16. October 1946 in Nuremberg) was a general of Nazi Germany army and chief of operations staff in Oberkommando der Wehrmacht (OKW), acting as deputy to Field Marshal Wilhelm Keitel. After the war he was tried in Nuremberg Trials and sentenced to death by hanging as a war criminal.

In the film Downfall he was portrayed by Christian Redl. In Downfall parodies his character was oftenly presented as an officer objecting to Adolf Hitler's plans.
