A 2002 British movie about a zombie apocalypse in the UK spreading after animal activists free monkeys infected with the "Rage" virus. Considered to be the popularizer of the modern sub-trend of fast/“rabid” zombies.
Is was later follow with three sequels:
- 28 Weeks Later (2007)
28 weeks after the events of the first movie, a NATO task force led by the US Military help rebuild Britain after those infected with the Rage virus died from starvation and British citizens that were away when the outbreak happened return home to rebuild their country. However, the discovery of an asymptomatic carrier of the Rage Virus will led to events of a second outbreak.
- 28 Years Later (2025)
After NATO forces managed to stop the second outbreak from spreading to Europe, NATO puts the whole of Great Britain in indefinite quarantine with shot to kill orders to anyone trying to leave to prevent another outbreak while leaving the survivors to defend themselves alone. 28 years later, a young boy named Spike brings his ill mother Isla to the British mainland to find a Doctor who can cure her, and must face the infected who have gotten stronger and smarter but also other survivors who have gone mad.
