The only thing that could make it even MORE riotously funny would be if the tank was identifiably WW II Russian!

It is, the barrels on the rear are typic for the T34 tank.

I'm not so sure. If it was a T-34, the chassis armor would be more slopped. The fuel tank placement is off too: T-34 external tanks were parallel to the chassis, these are perpendicular. If anything, that's a design more common to a German Tiger tank, which would just make this picture very confusing...
