If Alice actually misheard "stalking" to "stockings", does that mean the original Japanese is written in katakana?

You know how she ended up so messed up in the head is suddenly becoming allot clearer...

It normally would be (though Alice uses hiragana here), but it's possible to confuse words that are written in katakana with those written in hiragana/kanji, too.

Well, to be fair, "stockings" reads as "sutokkingu" while "stalking" reads as "sutookingu" with a longer "o".

But yea, since "stalking" is a borrowed english word, it's common to opt for katakana.

Using hiragana when you're not sure if the word is japanese or foreign is common.

On a side note I'm waiting for Alice to go yandere
