Wouldn't be surprised if they recycled Sawa-san's design tbh... After all, Alina was originally designed as a generic background character for Oarai apparently.

I call these girls "Redshirts", a-la Star Trek. They are mostly used to fill the CPU's vehicles when higher-level AIs are not being used. They usually do not have any special skills/abilities, and their stats are minimal. They basically are cannon fodder at lower difficulty levels. They have different school uniforms, depending on which school you are fighting in the mission. You probably will only use them for a bit at the very beginning of the game before you get enough gacha or loot drops to use better character cards.

Since literal cannons are involved, I'd call them "cannon fodder".

A note of caution, if you try the missions at what I call "insane difficulty", they become extremely hard to kill (your shots seem to miss all the time) and can overwhelm your forces if your stuff is not super upgraded.
