I don't think "The most popular" is an accurate translation of 大人気ね if the kanji are specifically denoted with the hiragana おとなげ (otonage), changing the meaning from "great popularity; high favour" to "adultness; maturity". Also, the ~ after ね makes me suspect that ね~ (ne~) is really supposed to stand in for ねえ (nee), the slang form of ない (nai) which acts as a negator, i.e. we may be actually dealing with 大人気ない (otonagenai), which translates to "immature; childish".
