    I don't know the art of investigating which part is broken, so I held a round-robin of going through suspicious components. Except for the electrolytic condenser, none of them are sold in Akihabara, so I ultimately bought them online. I get the feeling Akihabara's no longer "the town with everything". Tomorrow, we see what happened with these parts!

    I guess it would figure that the only two uses of the relay tag would be in Mizuki Hitoshi strips, as almost nobody else deals with electronics...
    And I think Akihabara is pretty gentrified these days, from what I've read. They can sell you cosplay panties, but not a lot of electronic components.

    Sounds like it to me. Between rising rents and most electronics these days basically being black box gear due to heavy usage of semiconductors and system-on-a-chip design....

    It's like Radio Shack in North America. He ones that remain sell fewer parts like transistors and capacitors and more cell phone accessories and kitsch like novelty USB memory sticks.

    Sad but true! The amazing Radio Store closed down about three years ago, though thankfully the similar Radio Center is still holding in there, last I heard.

    Referring to a capacitor as a condenser fell out long ago in common circuitry parlance, although people still call electrostatic microphones "condensers".
