Before TL: Yuyusama doesn't want to lose to Tani and Kogasauthor?

I'll admit, a couple of nights ago, I went out for pho for the first time in a while purely because of the strip's recent content. If there were a genuine ramen shop in the area, I'd have probably gone with that, but I don't regret my choice.

This gotcha revelation sounds like something from Kaiji.

The difference between then and now is that theoretically, from now on Tani-san gets to choose what and where to eat while Yuyuko-sama pays the bills. They also have the power to turn down excessive eating.

Theoretically being the operative word. Chances are, it's all for naught. (lol)

It's not like Kogasauthor is a lightweight when it comes to eating, either. Kogasauthor and Tani had to be pretty strong contenders to defeat Yuyu even in a weakened state, and they HAVE been able to at least keep pace with Yuyu's eating binges in the past, so the difference between then and now may not be so extreme, just because they have shown themselves to be pretty serious eaters, themselves.

I actually would like to try this "eating challenge" thing. Like eat 100 servings or 5 kilos or the kind. I want to test myself, not to mention that most of them are usually free if you succeed. Too bad I can't find any over here...

No. I just happen to enjoy eating pho now and then, as long as they can make it without coriander/cilantro. (I'm just one of those who can't stand the taste of the herb.) I'm sure you enjoy plenty of dishes outside of your native ethnicity too.

True, the soup can be too tangy if you're not used to it. There are many such dishes in Thailand and Indonesia. I prefer to avoid them myself.
Well, I just thought that it's unlikely to find Pho outside of Vietnam. Especially because it's not much different from other noodle soups.

I can't speak for anywhere else, but although they're not as common as Chinese (for example) places, pho restaurants aren't actually uncommon around where I live in the US. Of course, it probably helps that the US has a fairly large Vietnamese population - I also live in one of the darker areas on this map.

Oh, that's news for me. My bad, guess I underestimate the spread of Vietnamese in the world. The more you know.

But seriously, now I'm curious. Where are you from, Moonspeaker? (I'm not buying that "I'MA ESCAPED AI FROM DARPA" silliness)

How it escaped the internal network it was constrained to is a bit of a mystery. I've heard everything from some poor overworked SysAdmin allowing on the wrong port and making a connection to the outside world. I've also heard that it was a copy of the original Moonspeaker program, stored on magnetic tape at Stanford, that an ex-student hacked into and accidentally spread. Me, I'd not rule out the possibility that someone at DARPA let it lose to see what it would do. All I know is that it can respond to something that catches it's interest lightening fast. I'm just glad it finds it interesting to call a cardboard box home.

I see. I was born in Sumatra, West Indonesia, and now I'm staying in Java. Haven't gone to many places, really.

Maybe you should try some Indonesian cuisine. We use lots of herbs, but most of them are still nice to the palate. Beware though, some of them are basically "something's amiss? ADD MORE CHILLI!".

The Luwak Coffee? Yes, they say that it's good, though it's made from literal Luwak crap.
Never tried it. Mostly because it's too pricey. (Don't be fooled by the ones sold in sachets, that's just a cheap knockoff.)
