pixivFACTORY BOOKSWhat is a punchline? What is laughter? What makes something funny? If you start thinking about it too much, you'll just go around in circles.
If I could act unconsciously like Koishi, I'd be able to forget my worries, but I'd also likely forget my jokes, which would be a problem.
So this is the second volume of a 4koma collection in which I beg the denizens of Gensokyo for the ultimate punchline. The characters from Mountain of Faith to Hopeless Masquerade were the focus this time, and Koishi in particular. Koishi is not bound by logic, so it was easy to use her as punchline material. A certain Crown Prince whose existence is like one giant punchline was also easy to draw, but that's just between you and me.
Sometimes, even when I'm not thinking of a story, I'll suddenly get an idea that I could use in a manga, but nine times out of ten, I think and think and think before I come up with one. If that still doesn't work, I'll think about it after I go to sleep. The ideal way to come up with ideas is to let random ideas flow unconsciously, and then, with focused consciousness, cut away the unnecessary parts. This is probably the easiest way to refine a story without worrying. Just like a rock upstream that becomes round as it floats down the river...
Now that I've said some clever things, I'd like to end my ramblings here. Thank you so much for picking up this book and reading this far. There are many 4komas with existing characters that I haven't included yet, but once the next volume is released, I hope to be able to catch up with the new characters from the original games. Please look forward to it!
