What? We don't have a grandfather clause, as far as I know.

It's apparently an unwritten rule, going by my experience. I've been told more than once not to flag old images that break the rules, apparently just because they're old. See forum #10425:

How about enforcing the ToS and deleting those über huge ones?

Again, purging old legacy content never seemed to be an accepted practice, even though I'd love to do it, personally.

Well, you can still flag them. If you happen across them, but we don't really delete en masse. Yeah, I know, it kinda makes no sense. I guess the main reason is deciding what tags to nix, and if the whole tag isn't bad, what ones to accept or delete.

I assume you mean "defend". And no, no you can't. It's completely off topic and has nothing to do with anime. It's a TOS violation and thus is deleted. This is not /b/

It's true that it violated the TOS and I'm sorry about that. The reason I had thought it be okay to upload was I remembered seeing Zidane gifs posted (like post #52168 uploaded by albert) Granted that was 2 years ago and the TOS was probably different then.

could someone try appealing these two posts

they were unapproved in 3 days though many of the artists other art work has been posted

Hmm... I don't particularly feel ecstatic about these, but since there are another 30+ images of the artist that are almost exactly the same, I can see the issue.

I don't know, I'll let some other mod look at it, but I'm inclined to approve them.

They are (IMHO) heavily off-topic. So whilst I could be persuaded into grandfathering the already accepted posts on the ground of their generally good quality, I'd oppose approving any more. They just don't belong.

More or less my position too.

Delete listed posts please.
I posted those, but those have enough quality to upload here, and I have been warned.

No no, that's not necessary. We do frown upon self-uploads, but that doesn't mean we're going to delete already approved ones if they don't suck. Deleting is generally a lot of work, since it means losing all the info which'd have to be retyped by someone else (we'd have to "really delete" them, otherwise the duplicate detection code wouldn't let them be uploaded again). It's enough if you simply don't upload your own work in the future. If you give a link to somewhere where you publish your work (your artist tag entry is the suggested place), someone else will probably upload it given the quality is good.

1. Admiring resent posts, it is sure that my posts don't have enouh quality.

2. Rules should be kept. To make an exception, to corrupt system.

By reason of upper two matters, I feel ashamed and hope to delete my uploads.

Thank for your tenderness and labor.

I can understand the mixed reaction.

The artist asked to have the art removed, BUT he asked for it to be removed because normally the artist uploading their own material is frowned upon and he didn't realize it until after. It's not like some artists that didn't want the material up on here in the first place and still don't. This artist is asking to have it taken off exclusively because he feels awkward for his material being allowed to stay up when it conflicts with danbooru policy.

If K.X. had a reason for wanting them off danbooru that's closer to cases like the stuff from that one guy from jigglygirls, I'm sure it'd all be deleted without hesitation.

I've deleted them. Yes it takes some work to double delete, but he seems to genuinely be asking for it to be removed. Also, leaving it up just sets precedent, because what are we to say when someone else now ups their own art and claims they didn't know the rule? They might not be as honest as k.x.

So I understand 葉月's position but I complied with k.x.'s request and agree with his reasoning.

Appeal for post #370045

While going through this artist's works I was unable to upload this page of a short series, as it had already been uploaded. While the other four pages are on the site, this one seems to have been deleted due to the 'Unapproved in Three Days' timeout. Based on the tags, it even had the translation notes.
