Tag Implication: sharp_teeth -> teeth

Posted under General

teeth should be used when each tooth is distinguishable, instead of any generic white blob in a mouth.

The wiki's definition must be off then. According to the wiki:

In most drawings the teeth would usually be excluded from the picture unless it is a grin, crying, biting or others. Use this tag when the teeth are visible/prominent.

I submitted this implication under the assumption that if you can tell that teeth are sharp, they must obviously be visible.

Yes, the wiki is off, and as a rule of thumb, the wiki's usually the one that needs fixing, not tag aliases and implications.

The wiki needs to be rephrased (and perhaps aliased to a more descriptive tag) to express that teeth tags visible and distinguishable (if you can't count them, don't tag it teeth). Zig-zag lines in a white mouth is more of an emote than an actual drawing of teeth.

I thought that too but I noticed some users tag it that way to differentiate between white blob / no white blob when a character is smiling, and there's a merit to that I think since it does affect the expression.
It should probably use a different name to distinguish with separate teeth though.

I've seen "teeth" used for those reasons, and even contributed to it on a few occasions (though honestly I usually don't tag them as it's not something I pay close attention to). Would help to clarify how narrow or broad the scope of the "teeth" tag should be.
