rumblefish alias

Posted under General

I slipped and added a suggestion for the alias "refia" -> "rumblefish".
Would appreciate it if any admin could correct it to "refeia" and perhaps approve it, or take proper action after reading the following.

I'm a bit unsure if "refeia" should be an alias for "rumblefish", or the other way around.
On his web page he writes "Name: refeia", he posts diary posts as user "refeia". Not entirely sure what "rumblefish" refers to, other than his web page.

(q-orbit is the name of the circle, it appears)

Take this image, for instance:

"presented by rumblefish / q-orbit, refeia", which implies rumblefish is the circle as well?

Aren't you going out of your way to get confused about this?

ME - NAME: refeia

His name is "refeia", it says so in plain English. Why would you want to replace "refeia" with "rumblefish", then? I don't understand your thought process.

So you can understand my intentions:
"refeia" was already placed under the "rumblefish" artist entry as an alias, and "rumblefish" was much more used. So, instead of swapping around, I thought I'd go with the more popular one and properly make an alias out of "refeia", which had 4 posts on it.
The reason I didn't do it the other way around was because I was wondering if "rumblefish" was an alias he uses mainly for his illustrations, seeing as how many of his illustrations have "rumblefish" written on them, much more so than "refeia". In which case "rumblefish" should indeed be the main and not the alias. I can't imagine "refeia" being his real name anyway. If it were more apparent that "rumblefish" was a lesser used alias, I would have changed it to an alias to "refeia".
But no... I'm making a big deal out of nothing.
Sorry for my poor decision, delete the alias suggestion, do whatever you feel is right.

opem> Ah, I understand where you're coming from. However, remember that many artist tags on Danbooru have perfunctory names, taken from website urls, transliteration guesses, and even Pixiv ids sometimes. When a more accurate name is found, the tag should be renamed, and the old name aliased to the new one if appropriate.

It's also a good idea to put information about an artist's aliases in the notes field in the DB, when there's potential for confusion. For example, "Artist X. Used the name Y until 2006. Member of circle Z."
