Tag question : the_rape_filter

It's still a visual element and a tag would provide information that a layer has been placed over the image to make it appear like seeing through a viewfinder or whatnot. It may be that an artist provides both a version with and without the viewfinder, and so a specific tag for it might be worthwhile instead of having to perform a less accurate tag combination search of some sort.

In that case, i'd be of the same advice as Renim, as long as the original image was not altered by a third party, but it still look a lot like viewfinder. in case the artist added a viewfinder himself, wouldn't it be enough to just parent the two posts?

Well, the thing is a meme, and the original shape seems to be to place it on top of any image to give it a rapey vibe. However that picture in the OP seems to be an original that the artist placed this "rape filter" on himself. I think it would only apply for this specific thing, otherwise it'd just be viewfinder or something similar, as Nials says. But that specific red one with the time 15:23 etc. seems to be a meme. (Though, it should still imply viewfinder, I suppose)

Anyway, I certainly wouldn't be devastated to see it merged into viewfinder, as I'm pretty much guaranteed never to need to find that meme after this discussion. Just saying what the policy is when it comes to memes generally.
