Character name conventions

I was perusing the mess that is the Super Robot Wars related tags, and noticed that most of the Sanger images were tagged in some variotion of "Zengar", which is (much to the screams of the fan community) incorrect.

So, I was wondering, when I finally get around to sitting down and sorting through the mess that is my Super Robot Wars folder and figuring out what needs to be upped here, should I stick with that, or should it be changed to the more correct name?

And this stands for other characters who may have more than one possible way of tagging their name as well. Do we just go with whatever has precedence, or should we try to establish some sort of standard?

I'd say, if it is a valid variation on the spelling, sick with the precedent. If it is incorrect, the Right Thing to do would be to upload new images with the correct name, and fix all the existing posts. You could also suggest an alias that goes from the incorrect name, to the correct one to prevent future posts from getting mistagged.

As a bonus, if you suggest an alias but don't fix the incorrect posts, they will get automatically corrected once the alias goes live.

Yeah, once I finally bother to get around to dealing with my mess of a SRW folder I'll look into it.

At the very least, Sanger's name does need to be changed, since "Zengar" is purely a fan creation. But an alias would be good. But its hardly a priority.

It's not like creating an alias takes a lot of time.

You obviously fail to comprehend how lazy I actually am. Besides, I can never remember the "correct" version of his last name, and I'd have to actually start up one of the games to remind myself.
