Tag Question

Posted under General

Hi,

I'd been wondering if it would be okay for me to make a new tag for something. I'd been bringing over a lot of stuff for Ogitsune's "Strike Witches 1991" project. I'm wondering if it's okay to tag the posts with "Strike Witches 1991" since he's done over eighty pictures -and there are other artists who have gotten involved too.

Is making a new tag an okay way to approach this or would it be against policy for me to do that?

That's another option, although I think there are some advantages to using a tag. For one thing a tag can be used in conjunction with other tags for searching. Also if the artist ever does an actual doujin manga for this or something I can make that a pool for that specifically without cluttering it with all the stand alone pieces of art.

Of course making one tag for this project means openning a can of worms regarding whether it's appropriate to have related tags. At of yet only one character has more than about three images, but that could change in the future if this thing keeps growing. And I'm not sure people are going to want to be seeing tags for fan made characters. Then again, having a tag for the project in general doesn't necessarily mean that tags for the individual characters are needed either.

How big a phenomenon are we talking here? 80 is more than some of the Vocaloid songs we tag, I think, but how many artists are involved? I'll arbitrarily recommend tag if the number of artists is greater than two (sounds like it is).

There are multiple artists involved in addition to the lead artist but at this point almost all the pictures that have made it over here from Pixiv were done by the lead artist. The quality of the pictures that the secondary artists have done is variable but I'm aware of at least one that's been approved over here and there's some others that I think would have a decent shot at getting approved.
