Question on use of Original tag

Example VY1 art is being tagged as original, is that correct? If so, shouldn't the other Vocaloids Leon_(Vocaloid) and Lola_(Vocaloid) be tagged the same?

What of other work similar in fashion? Such as personification?

I would say VY1 is tagged as original because VY1 wasn't given a design so the early images were just each artist's individual interpretation, if a solid design has come about we can probably kill original off them.

This is definitely an unusual case. I'm not sure I can come up with anything similar except maybe some of the OS-tans? For those we don't use original.

Just kill original. The OS-tans belong to the os copyright. Likewise, vy1 belongs to vocaloid, and that's enough. We aren't going to have to deal with vy1 as a product itself instead of the current personification-of-product, so it's fine to keep that as a char tag.

Well even if the OS-tans belong to the OS copyright, I wouldn't say that necessarily means that some don't probably deserve the original tag. Before some of the designs caught on or before the OS was released/given an official name there were plenty of "proposed" designs that looked nothing like the final accepted design.
