i have about 5000+ images in any given folder, is there a way for me to upload files through a drag and drop method? that way i only have to open the folder once, and i don't have to open it in the web browser

Mass uploading is not possible (by design) because there's no way you can do adequate rating and tagging on five thousand images at once. This is something that needs to be done on an image-by-image basis.
You're restricted to 10 pending uploads at a time anyway, as a regular Member.

Actually, you can do that with a batch uploader. The sad part is, you still have to go through and set ratings and tags on every single one of them. The only thing that it's really useful for is if you want to upload a lot of images, then go back and add tags after the fact. But if you're going to try and mass upload 5000+ images, A) you might die of old age(or SQUAIDS) before your computer processes that shit, and B) imagine how long it'd take you to tag those images. You might tag 10-20, then get bored and put it off 'till later, while the other 4980 uploads remain untagged for a while. I prefer the old fashioned method, working my fingers to the bone, just like my forefathers.
for various reason this is a bit late, but i wouldnt want to upload 5000 at a time, opening the folder takes time, opening the image takes time, and than opening the folder and going to the image in firefox takes a hell of allot longer than if i was able to drag one image to fire fox and upload it that way.
alot of the time, firefox just wants to crash out ore freeze up and it takes allot longer to upload than probably necessary
As you're using Firefox, you could try the dragdropupload extension (http://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2190/ ). (I actually thought this functionality was built in to recent versions, but it doesn't seem to be when I tried it.)
It doesn't do batch uploading, just saves you the job of clicking on the file box and navigating to the file you want - but that seems to be the main thing you're after anyway.
