Seems I missed a couple of lines from howto:romanize. It does seem kinda weird that we use the official spelling for non-Japanese names but the correct spelling for other non-Japanese words though.
Anyways, Teletha is apparently a real name so it wouldn't have mattered either way.

Well, we usually use the official names for non-Japanese. The reason we "correct" Japanese is because we have clear spellings/readings to romanize. It's not always so obvious with non-Japanese names.
