I've been thinking about suggesting a tag for long pointy ears, or maybe long ears for short, if it's too much to type though it could also fall under ears that may have been stretched on the lobe, as technically, it would be a long ear, unless it would be tagged as long_ear_lobe or stretched_ear_lobe, that is if any such images exist.
Though the only main issue is what constitutes as long, given that the breasts tag are defined by head to breast ratio, i was thinking with the ear length say 3 times normal length of ear but that's not always determinable due to sometimes the hair being in the way of the beginning of the ear.

its hard to say with the hair but it would be borderline or if anything under the required size to meet the tag
A good comparison is this image, post #312821 Judith from Tales of Vesperia, the one on the right as drawn by Kosuke Fujishima, her ears probably would be borderline for the tag, infact i'd be willing to put it under long ears, while the image of Judith on the left would obviously make the tag minimum.
Maybe its a matter of ear to head scale too, though i think that's making it too complex.
Also food for thought, for pointy ears that go extremely long such as this post #283528 maybe an extremely_long_ear tag?
The first description that comes to mind for ears like that would be "elf ears"; that rather relies on the usual anime type of elves, but the familiarity might be enough to make it more useful. It does at least avoid the confusion you mention with long-lobed ears and the like.
I thought we had an elf_ears tag, and checking more deeply, it seems we kind of do - both that and elven_ears are aliased to elf. Is that intentional? It seems to me like the kind of thing that would normally be an implication rather than an alias...
(You could make the point that ears like that are by definition only "elf ears" if they're attached to an elf, I guess. But the normal "tag by visual appearance" policy would seem to suggest that "elf ears" in practice would mean "ears that look elf-style", rather than just "ears belonging to an elf".)
The thing is a lot of pointy eared characters do get tagged as elf even though they aren't elf or given the game/manga/anime universe they come from where pointy eared folk have their own race name, of course it may be a little pedantic to tag them with their race, unless one decided to do racename_(insert game/manga/anime) for instance
For example with Judith - Krityan_(Tales_of_Vesperia) and given there is other krityan in the game it'd stand somewhat but there's no fanart of the other krityan from the game so it wouldnt really work as you can just search for Judith and get hits right away.
Though do the characters from banner/crest of the stars have their own "ahb" tag? seeing as there are a few characters from that race as they are pointy eared.
But mainly what I'm getting at is really, for the longer eared variety to be tagged as such to make searching a bit easier, as one may be after a specific character but not know the name but knows that they have long ears.
That's just an example, or it may be the same as the long_hair tag, some may have a preference for the longer ear. Just thinking about having the pointy eared stuff just a bit more search able to specifics, as you can search for varying breast sizes, hair colour/length and such.
My point is really, seeing as there is the pointy_ears tag (along with the other elf/elven tags) I was just thinking of having the long pointy ears tag, if anything to just diversify the grouping a bit more, as there are specific tags also for certain clothes and what sort/colour they are.
Not sure if this definition would work, but for ease would a definition of having an individual ear length longer than half the width of the face make a good measure for the long pointy ears tag? There will be gray areas of course, but thats fairly normal for these kinds of things.
I do think the "extremely long" type could get it's own tag, though I think it'd be better named "very long" to match hair length and it'd have to implicate the long_pointy_ears tag. If we were to go with a facial measurement, I'd say very long would be ears individually longer than the width of the face.
