Images mimicking ZUN's art

Apparently artist mdnk really like ZUN's style of drawing. Now on pixiv he/she posted 5 collections of Touhou bosses from

I like this style because it's charming, the color job is well-done, plus distinctive overall. But admittedly this is an acquired taste, not everyone like it.

So I want some opinions on uploading these collections from the admin, mods and janitors. How well do you react to not-so-appealing-art-at-first-sight?

I'd probably only upload the opening pics.

I'm kinda surprised they're a decent amount of Zun-ish artwork within this site. Personally I say go with your gut feeling and hope your gut isn't telling you lies.

I know that pool and that some people like ZUN's style (including me). But apparently no matter what the score and number of favorites are, "bad" art is bad.

Maybe I'd do so. Just afraid I'm too biased...

Anyways, thank you. I'd like to have some impression of what a person who is more neutral about the subject think for future reference.

ZUN's style isn't bad, it's that ZUN's art just isn't very good. His hands, feet, and general proportions usually leave a lot to be desired. Art mimicing his style is usually much better.

ZUN art may be an acquired taste, but a lot of the stuff mimicking it is quite good.

I think at this point is that Zun's art is poorer but it seems to have become stylized and associated with touhou so its more acceptable now.

Its weird though since most of the time the art is poor but in Phantasmagoria of Flower View I thought he did a great job, then it went into Zombie Miko Reimu later on so I don't know, guess he was too drunk.
