Artist tag help? (Kaloli/Karori)

Posted under General

So I just found out some missing information of some older posts that lacked artist and source ( post #491207 & post #491205 ). The artist is at http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=1050341 and their user name is カロリ。 which my translator translated into "Karori."

I went to tag and source the two posts but when I did I found Karori already had a post in it ( post #355857 ) which was done by a Pixiv user at http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=395949 with the user name "Kaloli"

I don't quite understand why "Kaloli" is tagged as "Karori" on here, and I don't know if it, from the Mod's point of view, should be changed. Then there's also the matter of tagging カロリ's work...

So, what do?

BTW, when you use a source url for a pixiv image, make sure you use the direct image URL. post #491207 should be http://img36.pixiv.net/img/daihukupurin/5280047.jpg, not http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=5280047 (already fixed it)

What really? I dont get that, I'm sure I've missed some rule that explains why, but to me it would make more sense to link the source as the preview page so you can easily access the artist's page, however since that is the rule I went and edited my other approved posts.

...wait... no I didn't I put source as big illustration, shoot, okay going to fix that

Also thanks for the help with the artist's tag issue (o'▽')o

There's a source link on the left hand side that would take you to the image if you clicked it instead of copy/pasting from the source field. You're not the first one to miss this and won't be the last.

Having the direct image link as the one stored in the database is necessary for things like Find Artist, source: search, etc. As for accessing thepreview page, Danbooru handles the redirect to that automatically, so you can still access it when you click on the source link.

So we can have the best of both worlds.
