Question about parent and child posts

Posted under General

Hello I'm rather new to uploading images on danbooru i read pretty thoroughly through the uploading post of course. However while uploading I ran into a small problem.

It concerns post #686274, my intent on uploading this was because I didn't see it listed and thought I'd start to contribute pics seeing how I have enjoyed this site for quite some time and wanted to help expand it much like everyone else.

However after posting I noticed that it was a child post to another pic and quite honestly I had no idea because of the hidden tag on the parent post (which i now know about and will be more careful of) so it wasn't that the pic wasn't already on the site it was just I couldn't see it.

My question is, is there a way to be acknowledged of hidden pics if you are going to upload one that could have the potential of getting a hidden tag to prevent double posting the same pic or should I just be more careful about what I post exactly to avoid it.

Edit: Never mind I have located the solution to this while reading more closely to the uploading guidelines disregard my question.

Just remember to always click this "find similar" button before upload :)
Posting better version of already existing (and accepted) post is allowed here, but it may be a little tricky because of problem to define which one is better - higher resolution only might be not good enough.
