When tagging charas with a hero identity...

Posted under General

Are you suppose to have their civilian name with their hero name? Or do you tag them separately when you only see one form in one image?

Like if I want just images of Sailor Moon and not Usagi. Should all Sailor Moon images not have Usagi's name?

Since that is how I am seeing the images tagged (civilian name w/ hero name when only one form in the image) so I don't know what method people are using. Because I've seen images when there was only one name tag. It sort of goes back and forth.

See forum #38646 and forum #38308. My stance is that if the character is clearly and visibly identifiable as the civilian or default persona, and in a hidden/alter identity's costume/persona, that we tag both.

If you can't tell visually from the image that the civilian and hero are the same person, then only tag the hero.

With this tagging scheme, if you want the hidden persona, just query that persona's tag. If you want only the civilian persona, query the person's default name minus the hidden persona's tag.

By default with the person's base name, you get everything of a given person in both personae, which makes sense to me.

For an example of this we have a clear pattern on: Saber and Saber alter are forced to work this way.

ah I see, sorry for the topic repeat. Though the other one kind of derailed ^^;; and talked about spoilers.

It seems to make specific searches a bit more cluttered... can't get the right word. So unless you tag solo to each "alternate" persona, the search won't give you the result you want. But I will try to put some time into doing that.

Can you elaborate on what you mean here? It's correct that, say, post #652570 warrants the solo tag. But it seems like you were concerned about something else...?

no worries. I think I figured it out.
Say if I wanted the characters alternate persona, without their civilian form present. Images with the "solo" tag should being them up (that is if they are tagged as such).

However, I figured out that using "chartags:2" kind of gets a similar result. Which will make it easier for tagging such characters.
