Uploading Doujins

Posted under General

Post the cover or first page, and then look at the URL of the new post. It has a unique number in it after "../post/show/". That's the number that that you want to put in the parent post tag for the subsequent pages.

Dupe detection finds it. Or more likely, your pages are slightly different and you don't find out it's a dupe unless someone notices.

If it's safe/questionable and you can search around for it, just check for yourself. If you can't be sure, just upload it and see what happens.

I've got all 107 chapters of the Elfen Lied manga, 78 of which have been translated into English. The other chapters are still in raw.
It doesn't come up in the search which might mean that no one has uploaded it yet. I wanted to know if I should upload it or not. If the mods aren't interested in having it here, I won't bother uploading it. It'll save time on both ends this way.

Thanks.

Please do upload. As I see it, there are nothing restricing it. Just follow the guidelines posted.

soon enough someone will suggest uploading fully scanned versions of Full Metal Panic novels, because there seem to be nothing restricting it...

I'm not an authoritative source here, but I would think that this is not the place for bulk uploads of canon manga. Danbooru is mostly a place for 1-off images along with some short comics, and perhaps the occasional doujinshi.

I would really suggest NOT uploading huge extensive manga that should be torrented or be on a manga download site. Doujinsi here should be high-quality or short.

Speaking of doujinshi.. should pools themselves have tags? Like, if someone is searching for some ____ and there's a pool with ____ in it and they get a page and decide to read the pool from the beginning, that's already fine. But if someone's looking for ___ but not ____ and the pool has both and they think "oh I want to read this" and then the doujin suddnly turns futa or whatever? It seems pointless to tag individual images with elements that aren't in them, but what about pools?

This isn't a scanslation site, so I'd say to leave the commercial stuff to sites dedicated to that stuff. I would only put doujin material on here, and only in moderation.

The last thing we need is legal threats coming to danbooru because someone takes your idea a step farther and starts posting full chapters of licensed manga.

No, don't. This it totally not danbooru material, danbooru is a poor venue for this kind of stuff, and having it here wouldn't help anyone.

Thank you for the responses. I won't upload them. I wasn't sure if it was something that would contribute or just cause problems which is why I asked in the first place.
I do have a short doujin or two but I'll scrutinize the quality of it before possibly uploading it.
