Image problems

For some reason, some images start to load...and then vanish, leaving nothing but the notes and tags viewable. Examples are post #515381 and post #601243

In some cases, the image loads most of the way, only to vanish at the last second.

Reloading the page does nothing; right-clicking and selecting "view image" tells me that I can't view it because it contains errors.

It does this with me sometimes if the image is really huge.

Have you tried a hard refresh (ctrl+F5)?

None of the ones I've clicked have been incredibly_absurdres, and hard refreshing gives the same problem; starts to load, then vanishes, leaving only the tags and notes. I've also tried clearing my cache, to no effect.

When this happens I just close down Firefox and restart it.

I think it's a firefox bug since everytime that happens I can open the image fine in chrome or ie. Like fencedude said restarting firefox works as well.

I'm having the same problem in Chrome. And closing and reopening seems to do nothing.

Try ie(horrible I know).

This is what I do. Always seems to work. I have 8GB of ram so I wouldn't think I'd have to, but it's not a big deal.

Funny. I've got only 2GB and this rarely, if ever, happens to me. :/

It's rare here as well, but it does happen. Mostly happens if I've had FF up for 2+ weeks straight and try to open something of very high resolution.

I'm not sure if ram has anything to do with it. Bought a new rig recently and going from 1 to 6 gigs seems to be the same.

It wouldn't be a RAM issue. I think it has something to do with how Firefox handles image cacheing. But I don't begin to have enough knowledge to figure out if its something that can be fixed manually or what.
