I'd like to point out that we have a different problem as well that I'm not going to get to. brush is being used for both paintbrush and hairbrush without the use of either of those more specific tags in many cases

I have sorted posts from brush into paintbrush, hairbrush, cleaning_brush and back_scrubber. This leaves a few cosmetics brushes -- do we want a tag for that? -- and one for applying batter/butter/whatever that is.

A further cleanup is required to separate calligraphy_brushes from paintbrushes, unless we choose to conflate the two.

Furthermore, do we want to distinguish between the smaller paintbrushes used for art vs the wide ones that you might paint a wall with (post #574876, post #433868, post #249664)?

An alias or edit is also required for giant_brush and giant_paintbrush, take your pick.

Oh, I replied to forum #34069 before I saw this thread.

Yes, we do. makeup_brush perhaps. And the other one could be kitchen_brush? I have no idea if it has a name in English... wikipedia says basting brush or pastry brush is where it's at. But I'd still support aliasing something like kitchen_brush to whatever we pick, to make guessing the name easier for people.

As I said in my previous reply, we definitely don't want to. Writing brush or calligraphy brush is good, with aliases from one to the other.

Yep, same as with writing brushes. The wall-painting brushes are really kinda specific and not at all similar to other painting utensils. And while we're at it, do we have a tag for those roller-type painting tools (what are they called anyway?).

Giant_brush if you ask me. It's a writing brush 90% of the time anyway.
