Twitter's Broken (Again)

Uh, how do I upload a .gif from Twitter? NTISAS doesn't work since there's no "full screen" photo view for gifs, and I can't figure out how to get the direct image link. Other than right-click to "copy gif address" but that doesn't really give me a direct image link either.

I guess I could use a third-party downloader to fetch the gif from the copied address and save it to my hard drive, and it does work, but now I don't know whether they messed with the gif in the process with recompressing or whatnot.

Paste the Tweet link in here: https://twittervideodownloader.com/ and right-click on the video. You should see the option to copy the video address or open it in a new tab.

This site doesn't actually download the video, it just shows it to you and lets you download it from Twitter itself, meaning it's already the original file.

It's also possible to open the page source html and find the src link for the gif, paste it directly into your browser and you can download it directly from there.

It should be working again. Twitter added a new anti-botting technique that had to be bypassed. Funnily enough, they first introduced it over a year ago, and someone reverse engineered it not long after that, but they didn't actually turn it on until now... long after it had been broken. And they know it's broken because there's an easter egg in the code shouting out the guy who broke it. So I wouldn't be surprised if they change it again.

Thanks!

(Only noticed the usual Twitter upload method is fixed right after I used this, but it's still good to know in the future. Thank you.)

Likewise, thanks.

Thank you for the quick fix!

I'm currently getting this error after copypasting a Twitter post link to the upload page.

Upload failed: Unknown MIME type: text/plain.

edit: and now it works.
edit2: ok it's on and off. Also, fetching from the source in posts hangs.

What does it mean? I copy-pasted a xitter link and the above popped up.

Edit: Never mind, it's working again after pressing enter a few more times. Thanks!
Edit2: Well, it KINDA is working again, but it feels like a lottery with how much the error message keeps popping up until I eventually break through. Sure beats manually editing commentary hashtags though.

Updated

This sounds obvious and someone's probably already brought this up before but does the source data automatically being fetched whenever someone opens the editor on a post contribute to hitting the rate limit? Since it can't fetch anything while the rate limit is in effect, and I imagine the majority of the time the commentary and any relevant translated tags have already been applied by the initial uploader, it's probably attempting to fetch the source data for no real purpose since anyone making a quick edit doesn't need it. There's already a "fetch source data" button anyway if it did need to be made to be manually clicked first, maybe as an exception just for twitter uploads.

Added a new system where Danbooru now rotates between multiple Twitter accounts to avoid rate limits. Hopefully the rate limiting issue will be fixed for good now (as long as our accounts don't get banned).
