So, in relation to forum #28134, I just got this lovely thing: "Error: Can only unapprove 10 posts a day". Which is silly and annoying, because that means our last tool for mass deletions has been removed. Is there any reason this limit should hold for moderators, or is that a simple bug and should I open a trac ticket?
Does that apply to out-and-out deletion or just unapproval? Since nobody below janitor can delete for any reason, I'd be surprised if the 10 post restriction applied to that process.
Also, though I didn't defend Zone out of principle like I usually do when it comes to deleting things (c.f. forum #26872), I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing that mass deletions aren't overly easy.
I can delete by hand, but it's terribly painful, doubly or triply so with the awful slowness we have now. And seriously, what kind of a restriction is that? Do you really think we'd go on a rampage every once in a while deleting random things, and the only thing stopping us is the lacking UI? This is the kind of backwards reasoning that has led to abominations like Java.
How are you currently unapproving? Via the API? Unless the moderator interface is different than the janitor one, I don't see any way to do it from the post listing. Unapproving via the post's page itself would be the same amount of effort as straight deleting I would think.
I mainly say deletions should be less easy due to potential accidental deletions. I know I've accidentally forgotten to turn off the tag-scripter before and had to go back and fix things.
As far as rampages go, I trust us not do anything too malicious, though it could maybe happen. The old non-anime stuff purge wasn't given a lot of discussion, though I'll grant that by current standards that stuff has little reason to be here anymore.

The old "Flag post" script has morphed into "Unapprove post" without changing the name. I can remove them from the queue then. It's still fairly tedious with the need to enter a message every time, but still far better than manually going to each post's page, clicking delete, then entering a message.
