I marked my own responses as spam

Posted under General

While browsing images from the artist mizutamari, I noticed the source tag redirected to the wrong image. Upon investigating his website, it seems that the URL that was used is rotating images as they're coming in, but the images aren't going into his main CG gallery, or anywhere else that I see. (EDIT: I now believe this is because they're lower quality colored sketches) So I decided to remove those tags and indicate in the post why I did so. But I noticed there was a listing of all responses, and as my repeated responses to each image was taking up more of the top page, I felt that my method was inefficient, so I brazenly marked all my responses as spam and made a note on the page for the artist himself.

I realize I might get in trouble for this, but it was with the best intentions of improving the site that I did it, and not for any personal gain. Thank you for your understanding.

That's not unreasonable.

Perhaps users should be able to delete their own comments directly, as long as there are no new comments after the one they're deleting, and no more than 15 minutes have expired since they posted it. This might help in such situations.

I'd kind of like a way to sage your own comments. That is, I want to comment on something without sticking it in the comments page.

The comments page doesn't need to be updated with everything I say linking to a variation of an image on the artist's site, or mentioning a dupe or whatever else. But it'd still be nice if someone who came across the pic could see that info.

It'd also let people say "less constructive" things, like just commenting on an image in general, without having it shoot to the top of the comment page.

I guess the question would be, which do you set as default, the age or the sage? ::shrugs::
