Why don't tag blacklists apply to pools?

Posted under General

It's pretty much what it says on the tin:

Why, when viewing posts in a Pool, are a user's tag blacklists not applied?

It's quite discouraging using/viewing pools if you know you can't filter-out content you don't want to see. And going to a pool that's guaranteed to only have the content you want is no substitute for the good, old tag blacklist.

Anyone else feel the same way? Thoughts?

Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention about searching for "pool:Pool_Name" in my original post.

But for some reason, when using that method to view pools (and it's especially cumbersome for pools with long times), the posts returned seem to be different than what's actually in the pool.

Take this pool for example:

http://danbooru.donmai.us/pool/show/931
http://danbooru.donmai.us/post?tags=pool:sayori_(NEKO_WORKs)_-_Neko_Paradise

While the results returned are the same, it's not in the same order, which could potentially mess things up that need to be in chronological order. And I've also think I've seen cases where different posts, or a different number of posts, are returned completely.

But anyway, that all aside, I'll check-out the Bug/Issue tracker (didn't know Danyboo even had one).

Thanks for the link.

Actually, it's a good thing, since the navigational arrows ain't gonna respect the blacklists, and you want to know up-front instead of stumbling upon blacklisted content all of sudden. Also, very many pools are meant to be ordered collections with some kind of "plotline". Silently removing things from them would be harmful and would make editing any pool a very risky proposition. So really, I don't think we want blacklists to work on pools.

Ah, so it looks like it's this way by design.

But hmm, guess that'll work-out pretty good, Aurelia. Though, that'll leave me with only being able for one other tag (since I'm a jerk, and haven't donated yet). But then again, pools serve a different purpose than actual post searches, so oh well.

Guess that's all. Thanks for the input <3

Heh, coincidentally, I tried your script out just the other day. In the end, it didn't really have features I really used, so I stopped using it all-together.

I also noticed there was a tag blacklist regex near the top of the script, too - but I figured it would've been too clunky to bother to use, since I update my blacklist fairly often. But trying the script out again, it does, indeed, apply blacklists to Pools as well. So I guess just using that script for pool blacklists works absolutely perfectly.

And on a related note, I feel like making a Danbooru extension for Google Chrome (I'll bet I'm the only one here that uses it), since we have no answer for any of the Danbooru Firefox addons yet.

Nope, I've been using it for about two months. Well, Chromium/GTK+ to be exact, but it works pretty much the same.
