I noticed tear is barely used with about 80, where tears has over 13000. After closer examination of most of the tear tagged ones, it looks like the taggers intended to tag them that because of the tears, not because of a physical tear in clothing or something else I missed.
Anyways this is the first alias I posted so I hope I didn't post the tag to tag thing in the wrong order lol.
Normally singular <-> plural aliases go in forum #14788.
We alias to single when possible, but I can definitely see a good argument for keeping tears plural (not least of which is how well established it is, though that's never a guarantee). What do others think?
I use tear for the single, usually comical, teardrop from one eye (ex. post #516236, post #491695) and tears for the usual depiction of crying. Not sure if that's a strong enough argument for keeping them separate though.
Would teardrop implicate to tears as well, or would tears only be actual crying due to sadness/pain/anger/happiness/etc.?

It seemed tear was just a misunderstanding that people were using in place of tears, I didn't really see many comically uses when I looked through tear (though I didn't search too thoroughly either) Also sorry I didn't know about forum #14788 xD

The whole point is to make them separate, so no. post #516236 could be tagged teardrop tears, but for post #491695 it makes no sense, since it's due to her yawning.
jxh2154 said: Moved to what? I was under the impression both tags were being used for the same thing and we hadn't really been tagging teardrop much yet.
At any rate, it's all in the most recent couple pages of my tag history right now if people want to look for said teardrops.
I just looked through the first page and only saw one (post #407387) that seemed to qualify as teardrop that wasn't already tagged as such.
I think teardrop should also implicate to tears, after all, tears are made of teardrops, right? Also, I'm trying to write a good explaination w/examples for teardrop in the wiki, check it out in a few minutes, and agree/disagree/discuss

It's teardrop already On a side note, is there a tag for those streams of tears you sometimes see on a crying character's face, it just looks like a thick squiggly white-blue line running down their face from their eyes?
BTW, I just created pool #991 (as a search: pool:991 or pool:991 -teardrop which should contain all the images affected by the tear -> tears alias if someone wants to look over them in a more convenient format and see if any should be teardrop instead of tears.
I'm trying to write the wiki for teardrop and realised I can't just define it myself, so..
Should teardrop solely be associate to comical uses of tears and omit actual crying, even if there's only 1 bead of tears in their eye/on their face (post #512078post #514305post #524707post #498902post #491695) OR Include all instances where there's a single bead of tears in the eye or on the face of a character (post #432970post #509521(this may actually be tears since we can't see other eye) post #514195 and all posts used in previous examples)
In my opinion, I'd choose the first one, because otherwise, the tag would simply be differentiating between a single bead of tears and multile tears/crying... Any other opinions? (Looks like this topic changed into "Tag Discussion: Teardrop") XD
I was thinking this one myself. It should be highly exaggerated and stylized to warrant being separated out into teardrop, I feel. Sort of the extreme I'm thinking of here is in post #407387, almost like something you'd see tattooed on a clown's face or one of those drama masks.

I just completed the wiki for teardrop, tell me your opinion on it And basically after applying that rule, almost all of the teardrop tagged images are gone...hmm

*Ahem*

Kind of established with jxh2154 what it should be, yawning seemed to fit nicely into that category, but the line is kinda blurry, perhaps you could reestablish a better definition And apparently jxh2154 meant to use teardrop instead of teardrop_tears
