...or a manner of kneeling...

We do distinguish between kneeling and sitting and have specific definitions for them, although the distinction is somewhat difficult to apply in many cases. I'll be honest and say I don't quite understand the wiki definitions for the two, and thus which way we should do this implication.
Under the current written definitions, seiza falls under kneeling.
I think more correctly it should imply both sitting and kneeling.
Kneeling is written mostly fine, in my opinion, with some minor cleaning up/rewriting to make it easier to read.
Sitting on the other hand should read maybe "resting the weight of the body [perhaps upper body?] upon the buttocks and back of the thighs with the torso being mostly upright." Perhaps that's not clearer, but at minimum the current definition should not exclude something that would fall under kneeling. In the case of seiza kneeling and sitting are not mutually exclusive, because it's both.
There's a whole slew of posts which depict the act of sitting with knees and legs flat to the ground, to be found in both the siting (post #496057) and kneeling (post #495447) tags. This could be categorized under it's own tag (of which seiza could be a subset) but for a concise word defining it.
