mass update pinup -> -pinup

Is there a need for the pinup tag? From a glance at the posts it looks like it might apply to pretty much every single post with a female character in it, and the wiki is just a generic wikipedia excerpt.

Opening it up for a vote.

Even with the wiki's Wikipedia excerpt in mind, it's specifically referring to that style of 'pin-up art' that you'd see associated with World War 2 up to the 50s, that you'd see soldiers and veterans pin up on their walls (or maybe even have drawn on their vehicles/guns).

I'm fairly certain that a good chuck of the posts under that tag aren't explicitly referencing that style. While I think it makes more sense as a tag than a pool (perhaps called pinup_(style) instead), as the tag is right now, it seems more like "this is art that I'd pin up on my wall". So, I'd say, nuke it.

You'd be right, the majority of the posts are simply what someone would like to see on a poster, but there are a few posts either styled after or referencing the ones you're mentioning.

With this and what ZipFile has mentioned, maybe gardening the tag first would be a good idea, to get posters tagged properly, and give those posts you mentioned pinup_(style), since that makes the tag's purpose more clear (maybe also check source:*pin*up* just in case).

Checking Pixiv and Nicoseiga, they both have posts tagged ピンナップ (pinup), while the former has a 'pedia page explaining it. Both also have ピンナップガール (pinup girl) and 'pinup' as tags for the same concept too, though those don't have pixpedia pages (dA has 'pinupgirl' as a tag too). Given your example of post #2671486, maybe it'd be worth checking what we should do about nose art.
