General Tag Cleaning

There are a few more tags that use specific words like *_shoes, etc instead of the more general term footwear. Should tags like single boot and sandal removed imply single footwear (currently single shoe) and single footwear removed (currently shoe removed) respectively?

Mismatched footwear is when one is different to the other. Those single x tags are for when e.g. a shoe is being worn on one foot but no footwear is being worn on the other.

Different concepts.

And "single footwear" sounds really clumsy to me.

Stamp is too ambiguous. I've been removing it and adding more accurate tags:
Postage stamp - a self-adhesive sticker used to pay for the cost of mailing an envelope.
Postmark - a form of stamp mark used by a post office to indicate receipt of a mailing item.
Stamp mark - mark made by a stamping tool, usually a rubber stamp.
Rubber stamp - generic term for a device, handheld or electronic, which uses ink to create a stamp mark.
I'm not sure what should be used for posts where the work itself is a postage stamp. e.g. post #2943057
Thoughts? Objections? Should I even bother and just leave it all as stamp?

A lot of posts from user #574220 lack gen tags like solo and male focus, or they don't have any gen tags. There are 94 results for this search specifically: user:Juan.Dela.Cruz copytags:0

Okay thank you, I understand the difference between the two now. I think I was originally focusing on the fact that some of those tags should be implicated to another, such as single thigh boot to single boot and thigh boots.

Also for the tags such as footwear_removed were based on the fact that tags such as brown_shoes were being aliased to brown_footwear.

Are some of the posts tagged with seat a mistag of sweat? It doesn't have a wiki page.

Seat mainly seems to function like an "uncategorizable" tag for things you sit on that don't have a more specific tag (e.g. bench, chair, couch, pew, stool). At least half the posts with this tag appear to be fixed seating in public venues (stadiums, theaters) or vehicles (airplanes, trains). If we had tags better than seat for these, that would be great, but I don't think we'll ever be able to simply get rid of seat altogether.

I noticed shrug is confused a lot with shrug_(clothing). Maybe they should be swapped around? shrug_(clothing) -> shrug, shrug -> shrug_(motion)? Or both could have the ending specification.

Danbooru convention is to use gerund forms for actions, so the tag for the motion shouldn't even be shrug, it should be shrugging.

I have a question. I listed earlier a bunch of tags that needed sorted. @feline_lump helped me with an earlier post here in forum #154627, but most of them weren't taken care of. Since I didn't want to do them myself since I need more judgement in tag changes, why didn't any other mods weigh in or help out? A lot of the responses given in their post could be included in the wikis. But if the wikis aren't updated and tags aren't changed, users wouldn't know how to use the tags.

I'd say a scribble isn't even an attempt at drawing something, whereas a doodle is. Nothing in the doodle tag is a scribble (other than possibly post #1213832) whereas much of the scribble tag are actually doodles (the only real exceptions being scribbled backgrounds, a couple of cases where the character has scribbled something, and post #1118645 which uses a scribble in place of a blank page). There are also cases in both that don't remotely justify either - perhaps people see a rakugaki tag on the original and translate it to scribble or doodle?

I think the square comic one has definite value as it's a very distinctive kind of 4koma, which is also a definite minority variation.

Can't really say the same about vertical or horizontal comic, although I'd certainly not be opposed to having them. 2panels etc. is completely pointless.
