How to change a tags catagory

I tried to make a chracter tag but it ended up being a general tag. Even when I put character: before the name it just ended up displaying as a general tag with character:satashi. Please i need help i kind of messed up

That's because you were creating wikis, and not tags. Tags only can be created on posts. Once a tag has been created, you can either change the category on a post, or by using the tags interface.

Is it possible then to change a wiki's category?

Only if a corresponding tag exists, and you change the category of the tag.
