[REJECTED] Language/country formalization

Posted under Tags

Only @albert can decide that.

How about giving mods the right to approve BURs, even not directly (ie, if two mods approve a request then it works as if an admin approved it)? Because otherwise with autorejecting requests the situation has become unmanageable.

In the past one of the reasons to not do that was to not close the gap between mods and admins even further, but it's either that or not having BURs/Implications/Aliases approved anymore.

I'm surprised this was approved since I don't recall that the majority was for it.

The only objection I see is that it excludes spoken language. But many of the wikis already said that they were only for written text, so that was already the case.

Since Engrish is the only ranguage tag of it's own, and the Japanese tag was nixed, how can poorly rendered/non-native Japanese be tagged?

Maybe unalias Nihawngo for this usage? Or create japanese_text.

The Japanese tag was nuked a few years ago, being used for an array of Japaneseish things, from the people, to language, to culture. A new japanese_text tag would have zero ambiguity and very easily tagged. Only problem would be a very tedious tagging retagging process, it might be over kill for marginal uses.
