Instagram image (Pokémon RGBY beta)

Posted under General

I've been planning on uploading this pokemon_rgby_beta image from Instagram:

I've read our upload help pages such as howto:upload, howto:pixiv, howto:twitter. We don't seem to have a page like howto:instagram at the moment. Sometimes these help pages say we should avoid certain links because they are in fact image samples.

I'm not sure how Instagram handles image samples. Is there anything I should know about Instagram before uploading images from there? Should I upload directly from the image link above that ends with .jpg?

AFAIK instagram/facebook have an even worse compression algorithm than twitter, which combined with the bad interface is why most people avoid uploading from it. Not sure about samples, but I'd only upload from those sites if there was absolutely no other alternative. The image you linked does seem to be the highest resolution available.

As for your last question, yeah, use the link in the upload page and then set the correct source afterwards, or use the source: metatag.

OK, I understand. I uploaded that image and set the correct source.
