Potential video tutorial series; ideas requested

Posted under General

Right off the hop here, I make no promises. But I did recently sink some cash into editing softwares, so I might as well get some use out of them.

After seeing a few people have problems, namely language-related, being taught how to do intricate tasks via text in Discord, it seems like a video tutorial series wouldn't go amiss. I'm sure I'll need some tutoring on the proper way to use some features (especially Artist entries) myself. Hosting these on YouTube means they could be subtitled and translated as well.

To begin with, how to edit tags, adjust account settings, and upload (especially via bookmarklet) are the basics. The latter I could use some input in; are there any sites that require special steps as compared to Pixiv that should be highlighted? Things such as using :orig for images on Twitter.

Are there other topics worthy of being covered?

Mandatory

  • How to report Danbooru technical issues
    • Thread or GitHub
  • How to report Danbooru user issues
    • Comment abuse
    • Dmail abuse/spam
    • Vandalization
      • Tag
      • Rating (S,Q,E)
      • Wiki
      • Not as common, but perhaps artist/note/commentary vandalization...?

Optional

  • How to start a new thread
    • Do the research first, i.e. search for recent existing threads!
    • Threads not to start, e.g. "Help me find this image"
  • How to create/edit a wiki
    • Related to tagging only, i.e. not Wikipedia
    • Linking to external sites like Wikipedia is allowed though
    • Link to other relevant wiki entries on Danbooru, and vice versa
  • How to create/edit an artist
    • Scrape first known site for other artist URLs/names
    • Visit other sites and scrape for more artist URLs/names
    • Use SauceNAO on a few random image samples to potentially find unlisted sites, e.g. Nicoseiga, Nijie, Deviantart, etc.
    • Before creating a new artist, search all found URLs for an existing artist entry
      • Search for found names if they are unique enough, e.g. TheIncredibleZam sounds unique, but Zam does not
      • This last one is somewhat difficult, as I also usually like to find the same images from both entities before calling them the same
      • Even if a common image cannot be found, if the art style is similar enough, that can potentially be enough evidence for them being the same
      • Ask on the forum if you are unsure
  • How to create/edit/add to/remove from a pool
    • 3 or more grouped images
    • COPYRIGHT NAME - POOL TITLE (ARTIST NAME)
    • Include original title
    • Include language if known when not Japanese or English
    • Link to artist on Danbooru
    • Link to source
    • Include any useful artist commentaries
    • Add inter-series navigation to other Danbooru pools when needed

That's all I could think of for now. Hope that any of the above helps.
