I find plenty of examples of mecha musume being tagged with the name of the vehicle or weapon they are supposed to represent but not with for an example motorised vehicle. Yet tank mecha_musume holds a horde of examples where they are.
Is there a policy for this?

Well here is my two cents. When I search for tank I dont want images like post #2753976 and post #1446324. I could search for tank -mecha_musume but that would exclude images like post #2163736 and post #900150.
The problem springs from posts being tagged with the name of the vehicle like t-34 which implicates tank which in turn implicates military vehicle and motor vehicle, making all of these tags less useful. (The problem isnt just for tanks. Its just an example.)
The only real solutions I have is to either remove a lot of implications or make special *personification tags similar to *cosplay.
Though I suppose ignoring the problem is also possible.
I'd be for a *_(personification) tag. That would allow for those instances to be character tags, while letting the original vehicle/weapon/object be a general tag. That would also make topic #14714 a lot more realizable.
