New Danbooru Functionality

Shouldn't these be locked?

Yeah, you're right. I locked those pages, though Builder+ accounts can still modify them.

EDIT: So that's why it's been telling me to use the bookmarklet even though I already am. It used to only show the message if I wasn't

Yeah, I noticed that before the commit went active (issue #2768). There used to be a conditional along with a statement that got shown if the conditional was true which was deleted with the latest commit.

@evazion @type-kun

Should this conditional statement be put back in and point it to a new wiki like help:bookmarklet notice...?

Or should we just remove the bookmarklet notice altogether...?

This can just be hardcoded like it was. I wouldn't recommend removing it, it's practically the only way for new uploaders to learn that bookmarklet exists, and it makes uploading much easier.

I removed the conditional I wanted the notice to be editable and I was too lazy to make a separate help:bookmarklet notice page for it. It's only like two sentences anyway, so I don't see a big need to hide it. Hiding it also means there's no place to notify people when the bookmarklet is updated to support new sites.

Maybe the upload notice should be changed slightly so that it's not implying that the user is not using the Bookmarklet.

So instead of saying...

You should be using Danbooru's official upload bookmarklet to upload!

...it should instead say...

You can use Danbooru's official upload bookmarklet to upload!

That way, it'll be more like an ever present reminder.

I updated the help:upload notice wiki with the new language. Feel free to comment or change it anyone feels otherwise...

Just discovered this, but with the latest series of commits, Pool Descriptions are now versioned which seems to have solved issue #2684.

This means that reversions will now also change the Pool Description, whereas beforehand it did not, the main benefit being that it protects against vandalism or mistakes. However, just be aware of it in case you do revert a pool back as the description could revert back to something you didn't intend it to.

For anyone that has gotten a DMail from DanbooruBot, that is part of issue #2778, which will be a weekly report of tags that were added to your own uploads.

Example:

DanbooruBot said:

The following tags were added by other users to your uploads. Consider using them in the future.

The purpose is to expand a user's base of tagging and introduce them to tags they may not have known about or didn't know how to use. Hopefully it will reduce undertagging as discussed in topic #12445.

I second an opt-out option... Maybe only available to builder+? Builders should know how to tag adequately, anyway. That's the reason they have the status, but if they're exhibiting poor tagging habits in the first place, that should be a call for attention (topic #13268)

EDIT: Also, looking through the tags I'm missing, they're somewhat esoteric tags. That and I've only gotten a bunch of rating corrections from safe -> questionable, but that's probably a good thing since it tells me I'm too lax with what I consider "safe" or not.

EDIT 2: On second thought I'd still rather have the option of turning it off.

So how do I turn that off? I don't need that.

The purpose looks like it should help to tag certain tags, for example really standard tags you think you tagged an image with, but apparantly didn't. Also, that way you can discover new tags that someone isn't really aware of. The feet tag on my side for example.
So I only see advantages if it helps improving tagging.

Oh yeah, and on the other hand I'm okay with it either way. You could always just blacklist messages from DanbooruBot but uhh... defeats the purpose I guess?

There was never a call for demotion. Simply because no moderator ever shared their opinion there and demotion is something that moderators should care about.
Anyway, this is something introduced by @albert and @BrokenEagle98. That said: What is the threshold NCAA Gundam was talking about?

Apologies, I should have worded that different -- it should have been a "call to attention." But the mods should care about it, I suppose. They're the ones who promote us to begin with.

In regards to the threshold, maybe he means something like "if it's only something you forget very infrequently (like 5-10 times out of 200 uploads) then don't warn me about it." Perhaps?

This has only shown me tags that I already know how to use anyway (solo, 1girl are not anything groundbreaking), so I personally find these "friendly reminders" more patronizing and annoying than actually helpful. I don't need or want a Tag Nanny and I'd rather be able to turn it off on my side. Let the people that don't know many tags have this function.

If I'm reading the code and queries correctly, receiving the tags in that DMail means that you forgot to add each of them on at least 5 uploads in the past week. Before we discuss how necessary this is, I want to know if is it misfiring, or did you actually not add solo and 1girl to 5+ uploads in the past week?

Not him, but I've definitely done it a few times. I always remember to tag it after, but usually other users (notably zeparoh) add it in before I can.

Wouldn't say it's a misfire, just not always the first thing that comes to mind.
