Additionally the batch bookmarklet works for multi-image posts. Something else, if you change the source URL to the www.artstation.com post link you can fetch commentary and tags used the fetch data link or add artist commentary link. ( @evazion maybe it should automatically just use the URL? I don't think we have a technical means in site yet for an image > html conversion :\)

I don't follow, automatically use which URL?

For anyone using the artist subdomain (IE https://dantewontdie.artstation.com/projects/YZK5q as opposed to https://www.artstation.com/artwork/YZK5q), the artist commentary will not be fetched using the Danbooru bookmarklet or the tool for fetching commentary from the post page.

Additionally, a user in ArtStation can fairly easily change their subdomain. When an artist changes that domain it will result in all the source links to the old one becoming bad artstation ids.

The above might have been the case with my early Artstation module, but now I just grab the ending ID and make a call to the Artstation API. Still, I should go back and recheck Artstation URLs, to include the bad IDs, just to see if there are any that were incorrectly tagged. Additionally, the URLs should be modified in the sidebar so that they always point to the generalized artwork URL.

Edit:

Created issue #3108 for the issues in the above post (forum #132145).

So, fix URLs of the format https://*.artstation.com/projects/YZK5q so that...
1. They instead show https://www.artstation.com/artwork/YZK5q in the sidebar.
2. The artist commentary can be fetched.

In other words, no need to change the actual source for a post using the vanity URL, we can just make the link to the left the www one.

Also using the bookmarklet the URL is used for the post rather than the artwork url. Also regarding preferred source link, do we have a consensus on that? Evazion suggested to me the vanity one because of the name detection and I think that would be fine.

This has been fixed.

Currently the artist finder only works with https://dantewontdie.artstation.com/projects/YZK5q type sources, so that should be the preferred source. Also, artist entries have to contain https://dantewontdie.artstation.com/, not https://www.artstation.com/artist/dantewontdie, for the artist finder to work.

A few things of note I found in ArtStation's help section:

It's possible for artists to set posts to unlisted or to only show on their http://username.artstation.com site. It's also possible to password-protect posts. This may be relevant for bad artstation id purposes.

As of November 2017, ArtStation no longer allows users to view the original sized artwork. Replacing "large" in the direct image URL with "original" does not work at all. I know this because I've uploaded an original sized ArtStation image on another booru (e621) and added a source to the direct image. When I tried to upload another ArtStation image to that booru recently, I could only view the "large" image like normal, but when I tried to view the "original" it just takes me to a "File not found" page. I went to the booru page of the earlier artwork I uploaded there to see if it was just an error or a fluke, went to the direct source URL, and that image would not load from ArtStation either in its original size; only "large" or smaller. So it looks like ArtStation has changed something on their backend to prevent others from accessing the original images.

Here are my sources:

(In case anyone is wondering, the image I linked is a really detailed 3D model of Simba and Rafiki from The Lion King.)

Have you been in any correspondence with ArtStation? Not sure if you speaking of a specific policy change or just that since that date it no longer works.

Also I have noticed that sometimes the /small/ has a larger resolution than /large/... For instance here [nsfwish]:

Several sites do this by blowing up the size, resulting in the blurring you see in the /small/.
